When inflating tires with N2, the vehicle will exhibit less vibration from tire contact with the road because the inherent stability of nitrogen will absorb and dampen tire bounce. The vehicle will drive more smoothly and tire noise will be reduced. Regular compressed air in the tires can include water, gas, oil and other contaminants so rubber elements can be negatively affected. Tire pressure can also easily be altered by contraction when cooled or expansion when heated. That will negatively affect both tire wear and handling of the vehicle. Because nitrogen is a much more stable gas it will expand and contract much less with temperature change thus giving a more stable feel and consistent traction. Also nitrogen molecules are larger than oxygen molecules reducing the natural leakage from tires. |
